A Practical Workshop: The context of quality assurance
As part of its commitment to support the capacity of quality assurance professionals, INQAAHE is pleased to present a full-day workshop, divided into two different modules (Workshops 3 and 4), on the fundamentals of quality assurance, designed to equip both new and seasoned professionals with a holistic understanding of its history, theory, key issues, core concepts and contemporary issues. Both parts are complementary but distinct. Participants can choose to attend one or both workshops.
The morning session (Workshop 3) will cover quality assurance objectives, relevance to higher education, and basic principles to master to begin internal and external quality assurance.
Developed through the MPL committee, this workshop is a pilot for a series of workshops addressing quality assurance fundamentals for members and the public. Materials from the INQAAHE open QA course will be drawn upon and updated, and contemporary examples from our global community will bring the material to life. Once the curriculum is established it is intended to be used for ‘off the shelf’ programming that can be offered on a regular basis by INQAAHE.
This interactive workshop will delve into the foundations of quality assurance, exploring its evolution over time and its essential theoretical frameworks. Participants will gain insights into the intricacies of governance structures, examining global best practices that will be invaluable for organizations striving for excellence. The workshop will blend theoretical knowledge with practical applications, ensuring participants are well-versed in both external and internal quality assurance practices.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Strategic Implementation: Participants will acquire the ability to strategically implement quality assurance processes within their organizations. By understanding the historical context and international benchmarks, they will be equipped to tailor quality assurance strategies to align with the specific needs and goals of their respective jurisdictions/context. 2. Effective Governance Practices: Participants will learn how to establish and maintain effective governance structures for quality assurance. Through case studies and interactive activities, they will gain practical insights into creating policies and procedures that promote a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with international standards and regulatory requirements.
3. Problem-Solving and Adaptation: This workshop will empower participants with problem-solving skills and the ability to address contemporary quality assurance challenges. Through real-life scenarios and group activities, attendees will develop adaptive strategies to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of quality assurance, fostering resilience and innovation in their professional practices.
